Your key issues
Safe and efficient operations of pressure equipment shall be ensured while meeting regulatory standards for quality, reliability and environmental protection. The plant or facility owner faces human , environmental and economic risk and huge penalties caused due to a loss of containment resulting in toxic gas release, fire, explosion etc. Insurance companies depend on independent third party certifications to make sure that the equipment is complying with national and international standards. These requirements vary depending on the country or state where a pressure equipment is to be registered. The owner will need support from specialists having clear understanding about the requirements and procedures practiced in different countries. Absence of specialist professionals inhouse for ensuring compliance with the various codes of construction, regulatory requirements of foreign countries and special customer requirements is often a major area of concern with owners and manufacturers.
- Prevent human, environmental and economic risks
- Meet insurers' criteria
- Ensure optimum quality
- Comply with regulatory requirements when registering each piece of equipment
A specific context
Pressure equipment is essential in various sectors where handling, processing or containment of fluids or gases under pressure is necessary. Some important sectors include:
- Energy: Power plants including thermal, nuclear and renewable energy facilities require boilers, turbines and piping systems to generate electricity
- Oil & Gas: Refineries, petrochemical plants and offshore platforms rely on pressure vessels, reactors, and pipelines for processing and transporting crude oil, natural gas and petroleum products.
- Chemical & Process Industries: Chemical plants, pharmaceutical facilities and manufacturing plants utilise pressure equipment such as reactors, distillation columns and storage tanks for chemical processing and production.
- Food & Beverage: Food processing plants use pressure vessels and steam boilers for cooking, sterilisation and pasteurisation process.
- HVAC and Refrigeration: Airconditioning systems, refrigeration units and heat exchangers in commercial and industrial buildings require pressure equipment to regulate temperature and humidity.
- Aerospace and automotive: Aircraft and spacecraft propulsion systems, automotive engines and hydraulic systems incorporate pressure components for power generation and control.
- Water and Wastewater treatment: Water treatment plants and desalination plants employ pressure vessels, pumps and piping systems for filtration, purification and distribution of water.
- Pharmaceutical & Biotechnology: Pharmaceutical manufacturing facilities use pressure vessels and reactor for synthesising drugs and vaccines, while biotech companies utilise bioreactors for cell culture process.
Our solutions
ASME Services
ASME services are offered to pressure vessel manufacturers to inspect, certify and stamp the vessels constructed according to the ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel codes-Rules for Construction of Pressure Vessels.
Shops manufacturing pressure vessels require ASME accreditation and are subject to periodic audits by ASME authorised persons. Upon shop approval by ASME, the authorised shop get into an agreement with the Authorized Inspection Agency (AIA) for engineering verification, inspection and stamping of the vessels manufactured at the facility, ensuring that the vessel meets ASME codes / standards for design, fabrication and inspection. The most common ASME stamps include “U” stamp for unfired pressure vessels and “R” for repair and alterations.
Apave TIV India and worldwide offices of Apave are authorised by ASME for inspection and certification services. Apave TIV India offers quality control and technical assistance to manufacturers of boilers and pressure vessels preparing for ASME Certification. We assist in the development of the manufacturer’s Quality Control Manual in compliance with the applicable ASME Code Requirements.
Our services include Authorized Inspection Agency (AIA) services for clients operating at non-nuclear facilities for new construction, in-services inspections.
repair, alteration and replacement etc. Registered Professional Engineer Stamping Services provided by us include review of QA Program, In-services Inspection Plan, maintaining a Record of Inspector Activity Log, and annotating specific ASME Forms.
The Certification Services, include Design verification for Pressure vessels, Boilers, Storage tanks meant for exports to Malaysia under DOSH Regulations, Singapore under MOM regulations, Canada NR-13, and to many other Countries.
