Kolkata Lab
Following commodities of samples can be analyzed in our laboratory:
Solid Fuel
Coal, Coke, Steam Coal, Coking Coal, Non-Coking Coal , Pet Coal, Pet Coke, Nut Coke, Pearl Coke
Ores & Minerals:
Iron Ore, Manganese Ore, Dolomite, Limestone, Bauxite, Rock Phosphate
Metal – Alloy:
Ferromanganese, Silicomanganese
Facilities for testing of major parameter:
- Proximate (TM, Moisture, Ash, VM, FC), GCV, CSN, Sulfur, Phosphorus in all types of Coal & Coke samples.
- Fully Automated international standard GCV analyzer Bomb Calorimeter (PARR-6200) is used in lab.
- Classical Wet Chemical Analysis (like Iron, Manganese, Silica, Alumina, Ferric Oxide, LOI, Sulfur, Phosphorus, Calcium Oxide, Magnesium Oxide) in Ores-Minerals & Metals-Alloys.
- Thermo-Gravimetric, Titrimetric, Instrumental analysis regularly perform in lab.
Test methods followed in laboratory for performing analysis:
- The lab follows Standard methods for analysis purpose as per guideline of BIS, ISO, ASTM.
- The lab will also follows validated methods as & when required as per international guideline of EURACHEM, NABL, SANTE, etc.
- The lab also allows to perform the test as per method requested by clients (subject to availability of facilities).
Approval/accreditation in laboratory:
The lab is NABL (as per ISO/IEC: 17025-2017) accredited in Chemical Discipline having the coverage of Commodities of Solid Fuel, Ores & Minerals, Metal – Alloy in present scope of work.

In 2018, the lab was established in Kolkata & procurement, testing facility development was done on simultaneously & finally NABL audit was conducted on 2019 & being accredited by NABL on same year.
